Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

On Wednesday we started the season of Lent.

During Lent, we ask God to have compassion on our poor choices.

Fasting, prayer and giving to others are very important during Lent.

Jesus tells us within Wednesday's Gospel reading that we should not do them to show off or gloat about it to others. Instead, when we take the time

to pray, fast and give to others, we should do it because we know we

are doing the right thing for others and by God.

The ashes that will be placed on our forehead are a reminder

to us of the Lenten promises we will make in our own lives, and

to encourage us to give ourselves to others, just as Jesus did for us.

Prep Mass

Thank you to all the prep parents who were able to attend last Sunday's mass at Braeside Park. Thank you to Father Andrew for helping us celebrate mass and community.Thank you to our prep teachers for their preparation and support. It was a perfect day and a great opportunity to gather together and celebrate.

Swim Team

Well done to our swim team who represented St Louis' today in the District swimming carnival. They all did a fantastic job and should be very proud of their efforts. Results will be posted next week once they have been checked. Thank you to Mr Mitchell, Mrs Barron, and Mrs Stefanec who have supported the team through all the training sessions, Thank you also to the parents who bought their children to training each week as well as to Mr Wood who was our official cheerleader today. Parents and teachers cheered so enthusiastically that they even managed to cheer for a race with none of our students in!

School Review procedure

On Wednesday the staff worked with 5 staff from Melbourne Archdiocese Melbourne Schools (MACS). It was the first day of the Review process that every Catholic school must go through every four years. The Review process gives us the opportunity to stop and reflex on the goals and priorities that were set for the school in 2019 and to plan the goals and priorities for the next 4 years. parents and students will are included in this process over the next few months.

The school reflects on our success and challenges through 5 spheres:

Education in Faith

Leadership and Management

Learning & Teaching

Student Wellbeing

School Community

An external Reviewer has been appointed to work with the school and the process will conclude in November. I will continue to keep you informed of our process.
