Associate Principal

Our Continuation of Learning Process is gaining momentum as staff continue to supply students with work and resources in order to continue their learning while they are absent from school. It is important that parents and students check their emails regularly for notifications from teachers and staff across the board.

I am closely monitoring attendance due to illness or other reasons and will make contact with the family if your child will be absent for an extended period of time. The sooner that parents notify the school to alert us to any absences, the easier and faster the process will be for us to make contact with you. In the time before any contact is made, please refer your child to Connect where work has already been uploaded by staff.

If you require more work or clarification, please contact me at the College and I will assist you through these concerns. If you are having issues accessing content on Connect there is a Connect Guide on our college website outlining this process. If this doesn’t address the concerns or issues, then please make sure you contact me at the College. I will monitor all students who are absent and ensure that they do not miss any of the educational outcomes that we strive hard to achieve.

I have begun working through a list of students to identify those who require assistance with academic achievement. COVID preparation and learning from home planning have taken up much time but it is now important to individually track and counsel these students. I will endeavour to catch up with every student this Semester but I have prioritised those that require immediate intervention strategies. These strategies are developed in consultation with their instructional staff and may include extra work provisions through VET Theory classes, compulsory prep, development of Individual Education Plans with differentiated learning opportunities as well as following up late or incomplete assessments. My goal is around ‘best performance and achievement by students’ and this is managed and accomplished by a strong united approach by the College where staff are providing quality instruction. I will supply these students with their WACE Trackers as well as an outline of how they can improve or consolidate any areas of concern. Again, if you require more information, or have concerns about your child’s progress then please contact me directly at the College.

Lastly, it has been fantastic to see the students settling into strong routines and adhering to requirements in relation to uniforms, behaviour, work completion and strategies to minimise the impact or likelihood of COVID. The Year 11 cohort has made a successful start to their time at the College and have been widely recognised by staff for their maturity and application to all aspects of College life. The Year 12's have been instrumental in this via a mentoring role and must be acknowledged and congratulated for the ways that they have achieved this.
