From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe that we are fast approaching the middle of Term 1. Despite the impact of COVID, I am particularly proud of how our staff and students have begun the term in such a positive manner.

You may have heard that the Victorian Government has announced the easing of some COVID restrictions, including the wearing of masks. Students/staff in Year 3 or above at primary school will still be required to wear masks. Masks can be removed in secondary schools. These restrictions ease from 11:59pm tonight, Friday 25th February. Therefore as of next Monday, 28th February, our secondary students and staff will no longer be required to wear masks.

Furthermore, you would have been receiving daily notifications from me in the event that either a staff member or student tests positive for COVID. Starting this week, we will also add the bus number to this notification email to further support the health and safety of your son and/or daughter.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful community achievements of three of our students:

  • Jayla Walsh (Year 8) was a joint recipient of the Junior Encouragement award at the recent National Coursing Association
  • Jack Freeman (Year 10) was named Kyabram's Young Citizen of the Year demonstrating an active leadership role in Scouts
  • Keelee Smith (Year 12) was awarded the Premier's Spirit of Anzac Prize

I congratulate Jayla, Jack and Keelee on these wonderful achievements.

I am also excited to announce that our Years 5 to 12 Swimming Carnival has been rescheduled for Thursday 10th March. Further information will be sent to parents in the coming days.

Take care and God Bless.

Jay Sutton

Principal
