It was with great sadness on Tuesday that we said goodbye and wished all the very best for the future to our Wellbeing Co-ordinator Barb O'Hara, who after 18 years at our school (and working for the district staff before that), commenced leave before retiring. There is hardly a student or staff member or family who has not been helped or supported by Barb during her time at our school. Through some of the most challenging and saddest of times, she has been there to provide guidance and support to all. We thank Barb for her dedication to our school and her love for her role, and wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
For a number of years now, our College Captains have gone to Red Cliffs East Primary School to present their student leaders with their badges of office. It is a lovely tradition, and this year was no exception, with Deniz Karakaya and Jesse Orsini doing a wonderful job. They spoke to the school about how important it is to be a leader and how brave it is to stand up to take on responsibility. Badges and certificates were then presented.
The delayed centenary celebrations for the establishment of the township of Red Cliffs will be occurring on the 1st - 4th April. As part of our contribution, we will be holding an open school for tours on Friday April 1st, between 4.30 and 6pm. As well as a chance for parents and past students to see how the school has changed, we will have some memorabilia on display. 2022 is also our 60th anniversary of our school on this site, so we will be marking this occasion at the same time. Another date for your calendar - especially if you (or anyone you know) is a former student or staff member of the school.
DO YOU HAVE ANY MEMORABILIA YOU WOULD LIKE TO LOAN TO US FOR OUR OPEN EVENING? Old uniforms, school bags, photos - we would love to be able to display them. We have a complete set of Belah's (the school magazine) so don't need any of them.
Mildura Council Library have been busy digitising school magazines for schools across the district, including ours. Its a work in progress, but it is fantastic. If you would like to have a look, follow this link and expand the Red Cliffs section:
