Duke of Edinburgh

Duke of Edinburgh Excursion- White water kayaking and caving

On the morning of the Duke of Ed excursion we went white water kayaking on the Yarra River. We followed two guides down the river and navigated our way through the rapids until we reached our destination. We had to trust our partner in the kayak and work together as a team to get down the rapids to make sure we didn’t capsize.

Then we drove to the Britannia Caves. When we got there we put on our helmets and torches and we went down into the caves. When we got in the caves we followed the two guides around the caves through small gaps and places with streams of water. We had to trust each other in the group to help us get over some rocks and under others. It was a good excursion to learn resilience, overcome our fears and develop trust with others.
