Dear Friends,
The most important thing you can do for your children is pray with them and for them! One of the great joys for me as a parent (and soon to be grandparent) is being able to bless my family through prayer.
Amid all that is going on in the world, I find the greatest antidote of fear for my family is prayer. I have been able to release my children in all their angst and stages of 'growing up' to God - trusting Him to watch over them and care for them.
Genesis 48:15-16
15 Then he blessed Joseph and said,
“May the God before whom my fathers
Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully,
the God who has been my shepherd
all my life to this day,
16 the Angel who has delivered me from all harm
—may he bless these boys.
May they be called by my name
and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac,
and may they increase greatly
on the earth.”
The authority that God gives us to pray for our children is awesome and we can do this in ways to bless, to guide and to protect them. Prayer is one of the most precious gifts we can give to our children.
This prayer I share with you is from "The Praying Woman's Devotional" by Stormie Omartian:
Heavenly Father, help me to pray daily for my children and grandchildren and any other children You put into my life. Bless each child with a knowledge of who You are and help them to live Your way so they can stay on the path You have for their lives. Enable each child to recognise the gifts and talents You have put in them, and to follow Your leading as they develop and use them for Your glory.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Many blessings on you and your families,
