Year 7 Camp

By Leah Nicholls

Last week, just over 80 Year 7s headed to Camp Coolamatong for an amazing week of adventure, fun and teamwork.

We were blessed with a week of incredible weather, we spent our days tubing, canoeing, building rafts or going on boat trips!

In the evenings, we delved into our camp theme of Teamwork - particularly focusing on 1 Corinthians 12:12 'Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ'

We saw this scripture come to life over the week as each student played their role within the cohort. We saw students who excelled at learning new skills, those who were kind and looked out for others, students whose zest brought about a great team spirit, and those whose faith was shared boldly and with confidence.

Without this amazing mix of skills and abilities, the year level just wouldn't be the same. Within one year level, we have team players, leaders, encouragers and thinkers. We have speakers, listeners, learners and teachers. Each student has a unique contribution to the year level and we pray that they continue to work as one body - that as we return to the normal school term that the lessons we learnt at camp continue to impact them and that we can work together towards a year of success and achievement.

It was such a blessing to see the students grow in their understanding of themselves, others and God - thank you to all the staff who attended and to all of the students for their great attitude and approach to camp!
