Kinder Bunnings Visit

By Kirsty Meese
The Kinder Gardening Committee and Team Kinder, have been working collaboratively both this year and last year, to help teach our children about gardening, sustainability and how to appreciate our world. Together we approached Bunnings to see if we could obtain a donation from them, to help us achieve our goals.
On Monday Karlea, from Bunnings, Narre Warren, came to join us at Kinder, and help us plant two vegetable gardens, a herb garden and a pizza garden. Bunnings, also donated a mini green house, seedlings and herbs to grow, an organic shade cloth, and a gift card towards the materials needed to support the organic shade cloth.
The Kinder children were very excited to meet Karlea, and had lots of questions to ask, about vegetables and planting. The children were eager to help Karlea, and the gardening committee plant all the vegetables and herbs in the garden bed. We made a pizza garden a herb garden and two vegetable gardens. It was great to see the children and family members be active participants in making our Kinder into active learning environment.
We would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Bunnings. Thank you for being part of our Kinder Community and for enabling our Kinder families to connect through learning about gardening, growing our own seedlings, sharing gardening tips, swapping cooking recipes and forming relationships.
