College Ball
What a great night the College Ball was. The venue looked brilliant, the students were all dressed up and looked amazing. All students fully participated and were on their very best behaviour. A massive thanks to all staff who attended and helped to make it a memorable night.
Illness at the College
The last couple of weeks has seen a spike in illness, resulting in many student’s being absent from school.
Just a reminder once again of good hygiene practices, regularly washing hands, covering coughs and sneezes and staying warm in the cooler conditions.
Year 12 Farewell Dinner
Thursday 23rd September will be the Year 12’s Farewell Dinner. All students will be bussed from the College on the evening, departing from the College at 6.20pm and will return around 8.30-9.00pm, once we have finished. No students will be allowed to drive to the venue. We are going to support the new local business ‘BRUGAN’ at Wokalup. This is usually a wonderful evening where any staff who wish to attend can come and farewell the Year 12’s in a social environment. Just a reminder that all students need to be on good standing to be eligible to attend.
Ice-Skating This Weekend
This weekend Mrs Sayer has organised an excursion to the Cockburn Ice-Skating Rink. We have a relatively small group attending which is a bit of a shame, but I am sure it will be a whole lot of fun for those involved.
Student Drivers
Anyone who has seen Friday’s departure will know that it is very hectic in the early part. When COVID hit last year we needed to change the way students exited, so we decided to delay the Boarding students departure whilst Day students and buses depart. We found this worked a treat and made the entire departure process far smoother and lessened the risk of so many people going in all directions at one time.
We decided to continue the process post COVID, by letting the Day students depart, picked up by parents, self-driving and on the Go West bus service.
Boarding students being collected can also depart with family at the same time. Our self-driving Boarding students are asked to wait a few minutes to lessen the rush and protect everyone at the peak period.
It has become a bit of an issue in recent times with the self- driving students blocking access to the rear of the office, which is holding up the process of getting other students off for the weekend. Can I just ask for a little more cooperation from the self - driving boarders in this process, we are just trying to let everyone get away safely for the weekend.
Leaver's Police Talk
Next Thursday evening the 9th September, the local Police will be in to speak with our Year 12's about Leavers and all associated things. I'd like to thank Sergeant Scott Gillis for organising this.
