Up-Coming Excursions

This week on Farm we have been very busy preparing for a number of school competitions. Mr Edwards will be taking a number of students to Narrogin next Friday to compete in the annual Combined Colleges Equine Challenge. Mr Millichamp and Mr Dunlop have also been preparing for the annual Farm Skills Competition prior to the Perth Royal Show with a number of Year 11 and 12 students.

World Skills Competition UPDATE

Most recently Geoff Tozer and Toby Emmett returned from their World Skills Competition in Perth and had a wonderful time. Both students are waiting on their results which will be released in Term 4.  We have only heard positive feedback about how they performed and their conduct over the four days away.

Reminder

As we come to the end of term it is important that students take care when driving as the continual rainfall has lifted the risk rating in some of our hillier training environments.

I am also urging parents to reinforce a very important message to their children. Phones are “off and away” during the school day, unless express permission is granted by staff for students to use them for learning purposes. The use of phones to post photos or videos on social media has the potential to bring both the students and College unstuck.

I cannot emphasise this enough as we all function within an agricultural learning environment that is obligated to comply with Animal Ethics and Work Health and Safety legislation at all times.
