Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing Activities at St Pius X College

Our first "Mindfulness Monday Mornings" session got off to a flying start with 3 SPX students taking up the offer, as well as a younger brother yet to arrive at SPX next year.

Our wonderful School Captain, Liam Chang, was one of the fab four.  Liam continues to impress us all by his support of all Positive Mental Health and Well-being Strategies to support students.

The other students were Hamish Sullivan and Marcus Ulevik (both in Year 5) and his younger brother in Year 4.

There are now three Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing before school activities for your students to consider attending during lock-down:

  • Boxercise....Thursday and Friday mornings at 8.00 am and
  • Mindfulness Monday Mornings at 8.00 am.

Thank you to parents for your assistance in promoting these opportunities to your sons. In particular I also wish to thank Mr Brannan for his unwavering support as our Well-being leader.

Remember: Well-being is a pre-requisite to learning.

Act of Kindness for Year 12 students

Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to Mrs Joe McCarthy, (College Psychologist and Counsellor) and her three boys, who had lots of fun putting together the "Well-being" bags for our Year 12 who arrived at school today for their "Click and Collect" Day. What a lovely surprise for each Year 12 student when they were greeted with a white bag full of "well-being" items.

Our College community is right behind our HSC Class of 2021 and we hope that these "Well-being" bags give you additional strength, hope and courage for the next 5-6 weeks ahead as you enter the final straight towards your finishing line after what has been a marathon (steeplechase) race for you all.

We are with you all the way Year 12....Better Together!

And the McCarthy boys, are a further extension and example of the caring community that is St Pius X College.

Alright!!......you can do this!
