Wear it purple day
Last Friday we participated in another Wear it Purple Day in lockdown. It's an important date on the MGSC calendar to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.
Wear it Purple Day started in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. In 2010, several rainbow young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment resulting from the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. Wear it Purple strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.
MGSC is a supporter and an ally of the LGBTIQ community and we do not stand for discrimination/hate in the school community. We stand with you. Be true. Be brave. Be proud.
Thanks so much to all those students who get involved and support the cause and their fellow students.
RUOK day
Tuesday 9 September. We'll be wearing yellow and orange and asking 'Are you really ok?
