Year 9 and 10 Media students have been completing small photography tasks that allow them to get away from their desks and work on their skills in composition, finding the best light source, and reinforcing theory they'd learnt prior to lockdown.
One task about textures asked students to capture rough textures and smooth texturesin and around their home. The next task involved them creating an artistic portrait utilising one or more of those textures and using any editing software to experiment with evoking one emotion.
"I like how the overlay of the green blanket looks like moss, it seems like an illusion that the skull is woven or something."
Tye Jolly (Year 9 Media)
"For my final image I used a double exposure effect with a picture of my sister and the fur pillow. The soft pillow creates a comforting emotion."
Chloe Shovelar (Year 10 Media)

Year 10 Food for Life students have been experimenting with food photography during remote learning. They were able to practice 'flat lays' - an image shot directly from above - using any foods and props they have in their homes.
