Learning, growing and celebrating together...
Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,
Welcome back to Term 3 and our Jungle full of Lions, Lionesses, Gazelles, Hyenas, Zebras, Monkeys, Elephants, Cheetahs, Birds, Rhinos, Giraffes, Wildebeests, Buzzard and extremely keen and talented children. Where everyone ‘just can’t wait to be King.’ I hope that everyone enjoyed the holiday break and perhaps some warmer weather...
The first week back has seen ‘the circle of life’ begin to take shape. Everywhere you look there is a different animal wandering the corridors and buildings, singing or humming away to their favourite Lion King tune. It’s going to be a BIG term!
Amongst the long grass, muddy looking puddles and blue/grey skies this term, we also have some other events that we also look forward to celebrating. These include, but not limited to:
Grandparents Day activities
Wellbeing Groups
Interschool Sports
Prep 100 Days Celebration
Dress like a Superhero day
Year 5 & 6 Superspeak Workshops
School Tours led by our Year Six Leaders
Year 3 & 4 Soccer Gala Day
Book Week Celebration and Activities
Felice Arena Author Visit
Father’s Day Stall
Father’s Day Morning Tea
Men’s Lunch
Footy Colours Day
Yes, without a doubt, our Disney Lion King Jr is ramping up. Rehearsals and the like, front and centre of life at 116 Cotham Rd, Kew. They say it’s wise to ‘be prepared’, all the jungle animals are on the march and loving it.
The theme of Term 3 will definitely be ‘Hakuna Matata.’ Those in the know (and there’s a few of them around these days), tell me that this means - no troubles, no worries, no problems, take it easy. Sounds like a good plan to me!
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. Enjoy the Disco tonight. May the Lions, Lionesses and all the other Jungle animals sleep soundly at the end of the evening.
Kind Regards,
Ed Weekes
School Principal
