Feast of the Sacred Heart

Tomorrow, 16th June 2023, is the Feast of the Sacred Heart. As a school, we will be celebrating mass tomorrow at 9.15 am. We will also be farewelling Ms Elizabeth Hughes at this mass.

There are many images and symbols depicting this feast day. Some of the paintings and statues show Jesus’ heart crowned with thorns, bringing to mind His physical suffering on behalf of all humanity and his burning love for mankind. This reminds us that love and suffering are often simultaneous.

This feast is an opportunity to remember those who suffer due to a lack of food, clothing or shelter. We are called to remember our St Vinnies Winter Appeal. Let us, too, have a sacred heart like Jesus.

First Eucharist

This weekend, students from year three will be receiving the sacrament of First Eucharist. Please keep the year three students in your prayers as they receive one of the three sacraments of initiation into the Catholic church.

Thank you Father Richard and the year three teachers for preparing the students to receive the sacrament.

Grade Masses

Throughout this term, grade masses have taken place.  Each mass has been reverent and meaningful.  It has been lovely to see parents attend the celebrations.

Kindergarten and Year 6 will be celebrating their grade mass on Monday, 19th June, at 9:15 am and Year 3 on Friday, 23rd June at 9:15 am.  Parents and friends are welcome.
