Term 2: Career News Career Newsletter Term 2
We were lucky enough to take a group of students to a Health Industries Immersion Day at Holmesglen Health Centre run by Monash Tech School. It was a jam-packed day where students gained a better understanding of the nursing and allied health careers and study options. Holmesglen is renowned for its state-of-the-art training facilities including its simulation lab where students were able to watch how student nurses train through real-life hospital simulations facilitated by actors and robotic patients.
This term a number of Year 10 students were able to participate in a single-day ‘re-imagining’ work experience program run by Gateway LLEN in the police, beauty, nursing/health and animal care industries. These programs were great taster opportunities for students to learn and get hands-on experience in different careers by participating in industry-based, career immersion activities. Students attended Glen Waverley police station, Endota Spa, Box Hill Institute and RSPCA Education Centre. We look forward to sharing photos in Term 3.
