Inter School Sports

Year 6 students enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of two Inter-School Sports' sessions.

The students showed energy, determination and great excitement during these two days.

We thank our staff who supported on both these days - Miss Hall, Miss Gandolfo and Miss Wilson (Our wonderful Year 6 teachers) and also Mr. Mondon for his organising and planning. A very special thank you to or additional helpers Nicole Trawicka, Alexandria Daculan, Samara Egglezos, Kiara Seneviratne, Isabella D'Atri and John Packwood.

Football

On the 2nd June, 20 Year 6 students from Good Shepherd got the opportunity to compete in the football district competition. There were a total of five schools: Saint Leonard's School, St Justin's School, St John Vianney's School, Brandon Park and Good Shepherd. In the first round Good Shepherd played St John Vianney's School and won that match.

Next, Good Shepherd School played Brandon Park in a close match and ended in a draw. One week later in the second round they overcame St Justin's School and also won that match. Unfortunately Good Shepherd then faced St Leonard's and lost their first match. They then made it into the finals and played against Brandon Park where sadly they lost.

Overall Good Shepherd did really well and although they lost some, they won some as well. It was a great experience and all students were very lucky to get the chance to represent their school.

T-Ball

A couple of weeks ago, Good Shepherd’s Year 6 students split up into different sporting groups to compete against other schools during Inter- School Sports, held in different places and areas. The T-Ball team played in Gladeswood Reserve. They played against St. John Vianney's School and Brandon Park Primary School.

Good Shepherd School's T-Ball Team placed 2nd in the finals, losing against Brandon Park, but everyone enjoyed the experience of playing matches, meeting new people and having fun!

Netball

Good Shepherd had 3 Netball teams. We had 2 mixed teams who played their games at our school and a girls' team who went to St Justin's School to play against other schools. They played against Mulgrave , Brandon park  and St Justin's.

We all tried really hard in all the games and won a few which was really good. The girls team didn't win any games the first week but won 2 of their games on the second week.

Both of the mixed teams playing at Good Shepherd were in finals and finished 2nd and 4th. It was really good to play against some of our friends from other schools. Everyone had a lot of of fun.

Soccer

Good shepherd had a team for soccer consisting of multiple members with fantastic optimism! They persevered against many teams with good sportsmanship and teamwork. Unfortunately the Good Shepherd soccer team only won 1 game out of all 6 and didn’t make it to the finals, but that did not stop their hard work and effort. At the end of the day Good Shepherd did not win but they certainly had a blast!
