Mini Vinnies

As many of you are aware our school supports the Mini Vinnies program. Mini Vinnies is a program designed by the St. Vincent de Paul Society that assists members of our community who are in need of  assistance.  Mini Vinnies empowers primary school students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their values into action. They meet regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills and engage with the wider St Vincent de Paul Society.

Next week those children who are interested in finding out more will have the opportunity to meet and learn about Mini Vinnies. Those children interested will then have the opportunity to join Mini Vinnies and be active participants in the program.

World Environment Day

A platform for action World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Since it began in 1974, the event has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.

The people's day Above all, World Environment Day is the "people's day" for doing something to take care of the Earth. That "something" can be local, national or global. It can be a solo action or involve a crowd. Everyone is free to choose.

As inhabitants of our wonderful Earth, it is our Christian and moral duty to create and maintain a sustainable planet for the future generations.
