Principal Post

From the Principal. . .

Dear Families,

Welcome to Winter!!

Our Year 4 Camp to Sovereign Hill last week was a brilliant success! The two night / three day camp experience was a most memorable occasion for our students and I congratulate them on representing themselves and our school so well. It is so heartening  to hear from Sovereign Hill Camp staff how good our kids were!!

The cold weather didn't deter any of our students from participating enthusiastically in all the learning and fun activities. In fact seeing a sprinkling of snow only added to the adventure!!

My thanks to our committed and dedicated staff who generously gave time away from their own families to ensure such a successful few days!  Thank you Ann- Maree, Tony, Georgie, Belle, Claire, Paula P and Marg K!

We look forward to our Year 6 Camp which is First week of Term 3, - Tuesday to Friday at Phillip Island Adventure Resort!

Division Cross Country

Cogratulations to the following students who represented themselves and our school at the Division Cross Country today.

Education Board

At last night's  Education Board meeting we discussed our Child Safety processes and policies. We also talked about the operation of the canteen and  a process to evaluate our current situation and a process to  include possible/ more healthy food options. Stay tuned.

Family/Teacher conferences

Please note that school will finish at 1:10pm on Tuesday 25th June to facilitate the family/teacher conferences beginning at  1:45pm.

School Closure Day

The school will undertake a professional learning day on Monday 26th August and as such it will be a student free day. Please make appropriate arrangements. More information later.

Head Lice

It has come to our attention that head lice is present in our school. Would you please check your child's hair and if head lice is detected, commence a recommended treatment.

Could you please continue to check your child's hair and other family members thoroughly over the next couple of weeks so that the spread of head lice can be controlled and prevented.

Hand Foot & Mouth

It has also come to our attention that Hand Foot & Mouth disease has been travelling around the school. This is a common children's virus causing sores in the mouth and a rash on the hands and feet. If this is detected in your child please ensure you commence a recommended treatment.

Choir Incursion

On Monday our choir students were fortunate to have a staff member Rebecca from the Australian School of Performing Arts visit us for a workshop!

She worked on singing technique and new songs and gave us some tips on how to be a better choir!! The choir look forward to performing at the School Concert in September!!

Car Parking

Council Officers will be visiting our surrounding streets before and after school to ensure that we are abiding by our road and parking rules. I ask everyone to be courteous and patient when leaving the parish car park.

OHSC - Coordinator

Archana who has been our Camp Australia OSHC coordinator has decided to complete her time with the service as of the 14th June. Camp Australia will appoint a new Coordinator before this date.

On behalf of the school we thank Archana for her wonderful commitment and dedication both as an assistant as in more recent times as a Coordinator.
