Foundation Unit / Year 1

Foundation/Year 1 News

Last Friday the Foundation and Year 1 students had a chance to meet with their Year 5 or 6 buddy for the 2020 school year. We all gathered under the large oak tree on the decking and shared a chat and lunch together. There were lots of excited children. We hope to organise several activities each term where the students work together. Some of the activities will include tutorials in using QR Codes and ipads and creating an Easter bonnet for the Easter Parade.

There are 100 Foundation and Year 1 students so this will be FUN!

Woodend Primary School Values

The students in the Foundation and Year 1 classes are gradually being introduced the to the WPS Values and Behaviour Expectations. Every few days we cover one of the values and discuss how students can enact those values. This week we focus on the value-BE A LEARNER. We talk about the 5L's of Learning. The 5L's are; legs crossed, hands in laps, looking, listening and lips together. Some of the students have drawn great examples of what this looks like.
