Tertiary Information Session (TIS)

Year 12 - Compulstory attendance

As part of the Careers Program for 2016, it is our intention to take all Year 12 students to 'The Tertiary Information Session' to be held on Monday 30th May, Periods 1 and 2.

At the session students will be addressed by a panel of tertiary representatives and current students outlining issues relating to tertiary study with an opportunity for students to ask questions.  Following the presentation, students will be able to access trading tables and speak with representatives of individual Tertiary Institutions and collect relevant information.

Classes WILL NOT be operating at school for Periods 1 & 2, as we consider this event an important step in Career planning.  No matter what kind of work or career students might be considering this event will enable them to view Careers options and collect resources to help them begin the difficult decision-making process in relation to their pathway after Fairhills High School (both Professional & Trades).

Payment required is $10.00 & return slip must be returned by 18th May.

Year 10

In Year 10 Tutorial, Year 10 students recently had a presentation which will enable them to start developing their Career Action Plans.

These Plans are to be generated using www.fairhillscareers.com in The ‘Student Secure’ area.  This document is the first step in the planning process for Year 11 and 12.

Before students can access the documents they will need to register using an email address.  They will be sent a password which they use to log on.

Once in they MUST change their password.

We encourage Parents to open up the Careers conversation and be part of this planning.

All Year 10 students will have individual career planning interviews in Term 2.  At this interview preliminary plans will be drawn up and these notes will be sent home.

We believe it is vital that students/staff/parents work together in planning Senior programs.

Coming Up....

Term 3 will involve Program & Preliminary Subject Selection.

Again, staff will interview each student individually.
