Fairhills Sport

State 3 on 3 Basketball

Junior Day

35 boys teams and 21 girls teams participated in the State 3 on 3 Championships on Monday 18th April.

Fairhills sent 3 Year 8 boys teams and 1 girls team along to the championships. One of the boys teams with Kyle, Cooper, Jett and Riley finished top 16. It was a great learning experience as we had never competed in this competition before.  All had fun and saw a different style of basketball.

Intermediate 3x3 Day

Fairhills entered 5 teams to compete. Like the Juniors we sent 5 teams, 2 Year 10 boys teams  played well and got better the longer the day went. One team finished top 20 and the other finished top 32. The other 2 Year 9 boys teams worked hard but were often matched against Year 10 teams and the size of the opposition made it difficult. After some close losses they finished top 40.

Senior Day

The Senior Girls won bronze on their day and also had wins over the first place and second place teams only to lose out by % in making the gold medal game. 7 games over the course of the day was very demanding but the girls performed well.

The 2 boys teams finished 9th and 10th in the State after just missing the elite 8 on head to head results and %.

Well done to all the teams and on to VCC.

Intermediate Eastern Region Tennis Girls Finals

Last Friday Lisa Horn, Shelley Mills, Skye Smart, Gem Sakaeklang and Sarah Dunlop travelled to North Ringwood Tennis Club and played Glen Waverley SC, Box Hill SSC and Canterbury Girls HS. Three tough schools but the team battled hard and although won some games did not win any matches. Well done on getting to the final and to Ms Hayen who looked after the team and organised additional trainings.
