Principal's Report

Principal's Report

I have previously congratulated students and staff on the improvement in embedding routine practices ensuring students are using High Impact Strategies for learning. This includes the practices that ensure all students learn including goals sheets, interactive notebooks, turn and talk, and conferencing. Please ask your children about how they are going and promote these practices.

On our student free day last week our teachers worked hard in collaborative groups to develop the next level of support documents, such as unit planners and rubrics, so that we can continue our focus on student learning. As always we are also promoting effort and perseverance. This is vital over the next few weeks as Year 7-10 students complete their OnDemand testing. These tests are a key way that we work out what students are ready to learn next. It is important that the tests give us an accurate picture of student achievement at their highest effort level.

Child Safety

Our school focus on learning, effort and respect lived through our motto of try persevere achieve are underpinned by an understanding that Child Safety is a paramount responsibility of the school community. Staughton College has a number of guiding policies regarding Child Safety on our web site located at http://www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au/administration/.

Please take some time to make yourself aware of these and contact the school should you have any concerns regarding Child Safety.
