Orientation Day

Orientation Day from a Junior Ambassador's Perspective
On Tuesday the 12th of December, over 200 excited future year 7 students, came to the school for their orientation day. Orientation Day is a day for students to spend time at their new school, and to learn about the school, and how things operate. About 30 junior Ambassadors were on hand to help.
The day started off in the auditorium, with the school band, choir and aerobics performances, which were incredible to both see and hear. Then it was off to their wellbeing rooms for the new students to meet their fellow students, and learn some more about the school. A quick recess was followed by three sessions of Design Tech, PE, and Maths, full of enjoyable and fun activities, and new ways to meet their classmates for the following year.
After a lunch in our houses and with us the Junior Ambassadors we went back to the Wellbeing rooms to answer questions asked by curious students, and we gave them a tour around the school, introducing them to their new environment.
It was a very exciting day for both us, the junior ambassadors, and the new Year 7s, and I’m sure they will all belong in our community.
