Drama
Drama is back!
After a lack of Drama activity due to restrictions, it is good to have Drama Ensembles take place again this term. Year 7 Drama Ensemble is held at Lunchtime in B3 on a Tuesday and Year 8 Ensemble takes place on a Monday, also in B3. All students are welcome and should bring their lunch.
Despite the difficulties encountered in 2021 due to limitations due to Covid. Year Nine students Neve Hobbs, Edie Crawcour-Smith and Ruby Duggan managed to put on their masks for a presentation in Recognition Assembly and found a way to demonstrate ingenuity, positive thinking and excellent performance skills. Their piece ‘Mask Mandate’ demonstrated the attributes of working a mask and simultaneously enabled them to perform whilst keeping their audience safe from possible contamination. Well done girls!
Year 7 TAS
Engineering with MUD
All year 7 classes have been working through their first topic for Technology Mandatory – Engineering.
Students have been involved in the process of making mud bricks as a traditional building material using natural materials. Students dug for clay, gathered straw, and combined these ‘ingredients’ with water to create the right consistency. The clay was pressed into ice cube trays and once dry, students will use these building materials to construct a scale model structure. All classes will evaluate the final result.
