Term 1

A warm welcome to the new school year for all our new and existing Concord families. We hope that you had a safe, relaxing and wonderful holiday break. Staff and students have had a positive start to the new school year and it has been fantastic to see everyone engaging in rich learning across the school. 

We are looking forward to a full school year in classrooms to develop and support students’ learning and wellbeing. Students continue to work together on a range of activities developing their social, self-management and communication skills. Teachers have used these initial weeks to set up positive classroom communities and develop classroom expectations. Students have had the opportunity to make new connections with different students in their section and reconnect with friends.

Concord School continues to inquire into best practice for all instruction with a focus on Literacy. In the coming weeks teachers will conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and needs in English and Mathematics which will guide their teaching practice and individual learning plans.

Last week we held the 2022 Information Sessions via WebEx providing an overview of the learning programs and opportunities available to students in each section. Thank you to the many families who attended virtually. 

Our Classroom, Specialist and Social Competencies teachers are looking forward to meeting individually with families on Tuesday 15th February at our 'Meet The Teacher' conferences via WebEx. These meetings provide an opportunity for you to discuss your child's learning needs with the classroom teacher so they can best support your child at school. Sharing information with your child’s teacher will help teachers better understand your child’s needs and support a co-operative relationship throughout the school year. Prior to the meeting, please complete the online ‘Getting To Know My Child’ form shared by your Section Team Leader. Bookings are now live on Compass.
