5/6 Camp - Through the eyes of students

On Tuesday, we went to a candle making session and we got to make candles. The candle maker who was teaching us talked about it then we got to dip the candle into different colours. I used yellow, pink and blue. I also mixed some colours. I tried to make it look like a rainbow and it did look really good. I’m really excited to show it to my mum. She really liked it when I came back.

All the shops were AMAZING. There were jewellery shops filled with rings and necklaces with pure jewels, tempting to buy.  A really cool shop down by the gold panning was called The Waterloo Store, there were fans, parasols, marbles (big and small), pocket watches and compasses. There were bars for drinks and food. And the post office, where you got told what you're doing or information about your activities.

Sovereign Hill Camp was amazing! When we got to Ballarat we stopped at the Ballarat Museum and we went on a tour, after a little talking we went out go see the original Eureka Flag!

The camp was amazing!!

We got to do so many fun activities like candle dipping, gold panning, shopping, eating food, secret chamber, gold pour and watch lolly making. My favourite thing was gold panning. Lots of people found gold. Even I found gold. It was really enjoyable. We had a metal plate/ bowl thing that you put rocks and water in it and sorted out the big rocks until there wasn’t much left and we searched through the tiny rocks. Sometimes they was real gold! It was so fun I found two tiny pieces.

Prep A

In Prep A students are learning about minibeasts this term. They have been having so much fun looking for natural materials that can be used to create their own minibeasts artwork. They've made butterflies, snails, praying mantis and bees.
