Children’s University Update
This year there were over 30 students who participated in Children’s University, organised through the University of Western Australia. As the counting of passport hours has come to an end, we now await their graduation in early December. To recognise the learning experiences of these students I thought it would be nice to reflect back on some of their photos that captured the essence of the program.

The Australian Association for the Education of the Gifted and Talented (AAEGT) has a wonderful website with resources for students and parents. There is a membership section should you wish to join, otherwise there are free sections that are very useful in identifying and supporting your gifted child/ren. The Tasmanian Association for the Gifted Inc. is another organisation with excellent resources. They have a number of online workshops throughout the year at minimal cost. Coming up in November are online deliveries of ‘Perfectionism in Gifted Children’ and ‘Developing practice to support twice-exceptional students. Both pages also have social media accounts that are updated regularly with events and resources.
Lego League
Our Junior and Middle School Lego League teams are well into the action, both coding their robots and preparing their Innovation Project, this year focusing on alternate energy sources.
They will now begin to work two lunch times a week as the competition at the end of November swiftly approaches. More details will follow once the final at the Town Hall has been attended.
