From the Principal

Valedictory Chapel and Assembly

Tomorrow, we celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2022. Our Year Twelves have reached the end of their formal schooling and now venture along the new and exciting road stretching out before them. Their paths will have many twists and turns, up mountains and down valleys, across streams and rivers. They will need to reflect and be grateful for the simple blessings and opportunities life has gifted so far. May the Class of 2022 remember what we taught them at GSG and may they travel safely along life’s adventurous highway and enjoy the ride.

World Teachers' Day - 28 October

Friday 28 October is Australia’s World Teachers’ Day.  This year the theme is ‘Hats off to teachers.’ Our world has been turned upside down with the bushfires, floods and pandemic and all through these challenges teachers have continued to support and educate our students. Teachers have the greatest in-school impact on the learning lives of students, and they should be celebrated and recognised, especially on World Teachers’ Day, for the role they play in shaping the future of Australia’s students.

UWA Starter Program

The School is partnering with the University of Western Australia for the pilot of the UWA Starter Program. This program will provide a unique opportunity for Year Eleven and Year Twelve students to get started on the university experience by completing micro-credentials and staff will benefit through access to professional development opportunities at UWA. This program will commence sometime next year.
