Principal's Report

Dear O’Connor community,

I would like to welcome you all back to Term 4. It has been a great start to the term with Year 12 beginning their HSC exams, Year 7 on Camp at Lake Keepit, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff at the State Conference in the Blue Mountains, Year 9 and 10 Retreats at the Torrigiani Room and the Commissioning of our new College Leaders for 2023. It is wonderful to celebrate all of these successes as we begin our term.

This Term we are pleased to welcome the following staff members to our community:

Ms Lily Fryar - PDHPE Teacher

Mr Luke Andrews - Chemistry/Science Teacher

Ms Marie Gould - Mathematics Teacher

Ms Julia Becker - English/HSIE Teacher

We also have a number of pre-service teachers with us from Nauru. This is one of our ongoing partnerships with UNE. I am pleased to let you know we will also have more pre-service teachers from ACU with our community later in the term.

On Monday 24th October we will have our HSC 2023 Parent Evening at 6pm in the Library. This year we have arranged for our Parent Teacher Student Interviews to be on the same evening. The HSC is an important year for you and your children and we want to ensure that your children are successful. Success comes in many different forms - from ATAR’s and University to TAFE, Apprenticeships, Traineeships and employment. We want to ensure that every form of success is celebrated at O'Connor.
