Learning - Elmore / Bendigo
PHASE 2: Foundation, Grades 1 & 2
- Chevalier Centre, OLSH Elmore
The Junior Classes will be learning in a COLLABORATIVE CLASSROOM.
- Our children will explore, create, share and learn together.
- Our staff will work together to create conditions for authentic, student-centred learning.
- Staff will prepare the classroom with items from St Joseph's to make sure the children are surrounded by familiar resources
- Children will have access to the playground at OLSH and will be included in some of the learning experiences that are offered in Elmore
- Breaks for St Joseph's children will match OLSH children so that distraction when learning is minimised. OLSH have two 45 minute breaks (11.00 - 11.45 & 1.45 - 2.30, children eat for the last 15 minutes of each break) Fruit breaks will continue to be offered to all children. Children will be supported with these changes
PHASE 2: Grades 3/4/5/6
- Sr Aloysius Martyn Arts Centre, CMC Junortoun
We have been provided with 4 classrooms for the next 7 weeks. These facilities are state of the art and will meet the needs of all children.
Students will have access to:
- Play spaces
- Agricultural learning experiences
- STEM building
- Canteen
St Joseph's children will have breaks at different times to CMC students. This will allow them time to make the best use of the amazing facilities on offer.
On Monday, we will send some social stories to all families so children can be prepared for the transition to Elmore or Junortoun.
Staff will plan for learning that is purposeful and addresses the needs of every child. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to speak to your child's teacher.
Please know student wellbeing is a priority as we transition back to learning.
