Head of Students News

Mr Peter Serone

In what can be a trying time for many during lockdown periods, be assured that the staff are here to be of assistance to you and your sons. Regular communication of support will continue this week from our pastoral leaders in both primary and secondary, encouraging the boys in their efforts to maintain wellbeing and learning. If concerns do arise, please be in touch with your son’s pastoral leader. Our College counsellors are also available with initial contact via email (counsellors@marash.qld.edu.au) and our Sports Department are also uploading workout challenges for students on the College APP to look after their physical wellbeing.

Silver Rose Photo Orders

The Photo Days for Friday 6 August and Saturday 7 August have been cancelled due to this lockdown.

Please note Silver Rose has closed for the week as per the government directive and will not be printing or posting photo orders. As soon as they are able to return, MCA orders will be the first to be dispatched in the post. Any concerns or questions should be direct to Silver Rose via email - schools@silverrose.com.au

Online Learning and Behaviour

A reminder of expectations with online learning. Students are to be in full College uniform, in an appropriate space (not a bedroom) or with an appropriate background set. Students have been asked to enter all classes with their cameras on to help facilitate a quick roll marking process.

If your son’s camera is not functioning, please notify his teachers via email or their pastoral leader.

Whilst feedback at this early stage of online learning has been positive, it has been noted that at times, students are entering classes late, creating a challenge for teachers to mark the roll and deliver lesson content.

Any unacceptable behaviour will have consequences addressed upon return to face-to-face teaching.

Best wishes and stay in communication.
