SKiPPS Dads' Footy Team

After an enforced absence in 2020, once again our parents' footy team will be taking part in the Bayside competition against dads and mums from our local schools on Saturday 28th August.

The competition began back in 2013 as a one-off game between the dads (and occasional mum) from St Kilda Park and Port Melbourne Primary School. Since then it has grown to also include over ten other schools and is a great day out at Murphy's Reserve in Port Melbourne.

The team has always been about social connections and fun (rather than an amazingly high standard) and it is a great way for our SKiPPS parents and carers to get to know each other and show your kids that you still have it!

There are currently a core of 10-15 dads involved in the team but we need greater numbers before the competition on the 28th August.

If there are any parents keen to pull on the red, white and black and represent SKiPPS (and to meet some other parents) then please email our Team manger Ed Waters at EW@tangoprojects.com.au to find out about upcoming training sessions - currently taking place on a Sunday afternoon at the oval next to the school (and then at the Bowls Club for a tactical debrief).

Year 1/2 families Working Bee

This year our Buildings and Grounds sub-committee are co-ordinating a working bee each term - one for families at each age level at our school.

After a huge turnout from our Foundation families in term 1, our term 2 event for parents and carers of Year 1/2 students had to be postponed due to COVID. We have now re-arranged this date and are asking our Year 1/2 families to give up a few hours to help out with a big list of jobs to keep our school looking great and working beautifuly.

We rely on our families to help us during working bees as our limited government funding isn't enough to provide the level of upkeep required for such an old building and school site.

The Year 1/2 working bee will be on Saturday 31st July from 9am - 1pm and we will have jobs for all levels of fitness and ability. We will finish up with a free family sausage sizzle for lunch. We ask all of our Year 1/2 families to put it in their calendars now and help us out.
