Fete Time!

It has been great to see this week the children all gearing up for the school fete. Recess and lunchtimes have been busy, as children run their mini fete with cakes, slices, drinks, and various games all the rage. Children have certainly been learning about supply and demand and general money handling. Also our Parent and Friends have been extremely busy preparing for tonight's face and we truly appreciate all the hard work that goes into this major fundraiser. I know for the children it is also a highlight of the year so I hope to see everyone here tonight.

Story Box Library

Recently the school has purchased a subscription to Story Box Library. This is an educational website created for children to view stories by local authors and  illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers.

Reading aloud to children, in particular by diverse and engaging storytellers, greatly improves language and literacy skills, especially in the early years of a child’s development. This website is intended for use as a complementary form of delivering the previous experience of being read aloud to, in order to improve children’s lives.

The stories are read by a diverse range of everyday storytellers – sportspeople, musicians, grandparents, teenagers, comedians, actors, with varying accents and from different cultures.

This Library is particularly suitable for children 0-8 years old. Log on and password details have been posted in the Compass Newsfeed for Preps to Year 3s and will also be available from the classroom teachers.
