2020 CESC Production- Be More Chill

We've had a huge start to the year with the launch of our 2020 Production- Be More Chill!

We were blown away by the talent that came through the auditions. We currently have a cast of 60 very enthusiastic students ranging from Years 7-12! We're very excited about this year's production!!

Our rehearsals are off to a flying start- we already have a couple of songs and dances learnt.

This year is going to be a big year for us, for the first time we will be performing our production with a full band!

Later in the year we will be putting a call out to any students, staff members and parents who are interested in helping out with our annual production working bee. This will include making props, painting sets and constructing costumes! If this is something you'd be interested in helping out with, please let either Jess Latchford or Rebecca Grey know via email, or by contacting the school.

VCE Drama Excursion- Black Ties

The VCE Drama class went on an excursion to the Melbourne Arts Centre on the 26th of February. We got an all access guided tour of the building and got an insight into the workings of the Arts Centre and the different theatres within it. The buildings were huge and the theatres mind blowing! Having the chance to see the size of the centre and even getting a look into one of their rehearsal rooms was an experience that will not be forgotten by any of us.

Later in the day we had the privilege of watching Black Ties. A performance about two cultures, Aboriginal and Maori, coming together in the most dysfunctional way for Kane and Hera’s wedding. The performance was such an immersive and hilarious experience that left us all in awe, the actors were incredibly talented, and the story was so compelling. The audience was part of the performance too which was absolutely incredible, during the second act we were considered guests at the wedding and treated like “family” by the cast. We even got to meet and take selfies with a few members of the cast!
