BOOKWEEK
Students in Years 7 - 10 enjoyed guest authors talking about writing. The authors; John Larkin, James Phelan and Beau Kondos talked about where their inspirations comes from, writing tips, and what life as an author is like. There are many ex McKinnon students who have had books published, will you be the next?
John Larkin spoke of how a homeless girl inspired him to write a novel that won the Victorian Premiers award and is going to be turned into a film.
James Phelan spoke of how he used a childhood dream as the basis for his series 13.
Beau Kondos, an ex McKinnon student, spoke about how high tech modern life leaves people with little time to pause and reflect.
The one message that students need to take from book week is READ!! Reading is fundamental to educational achievement!
