INTERMEDIATE GIRLS HOCKEY
On a calm winter Wednesday, the Intermediate Girls Hockey team set off to Hawthorn ready to win the Round Robin and take the pennant!
The first game was an intense match against Parkdale. Early on Kampi Nainhabo scored a goal, Despite Leila Brough’s fine saves as goal keeper, Parkdale struck back with 2 goals putting them in the lead. Sam Toler scored a goal to even it out but just before the whistle to end the game, Parkdale scored another goal, making them the winners 3 to 2.
In the second game we versed Westall and the ball barely travelled into their half. We won comfortably 7-0 with Allegra Eggels scoring an amazing 4 goals, Kampi 2 more and Sam got 1 as well. We also had a few close shots from Rosie Pendlebury, Maddy King and Lucy Li.
In an all out thrilling final match we were up against Bentleigh. We were so determined to win as we knew we were in with a chance to win the pennant. Even though we were not triumphant we were so close with shots by Asha Johnson, Allegra and Kampi. Bentleigh found it very difficult to penetrate our defence with Freya Cross, Tamanna Sharma and Isabelle Rake.
In the end they did and we lost 2-0.
We all had a great day. Thank you to Mrs Hooper for her coaching and for her support on and off the field to get us to the competition.
We will be back!!

The Intermediate Round Robin Frisbee took place on Wednesday 22 August. The team improved greatly over the day, finishing in third place behind Westall and Bentleigh. Everyone worked as a team and put their heart and soul into defence and offence. Most of all, everyone had a lot of fun!
