Foundation
This term the Foundation students have started to learn to say big 大(おお)きい ookii, same 同じ onaji, small 小(ちい)さい chiisai. We have also begun to trace and write the kanji character for big 大(おお)きい.
Level 1 and 2
The Level 1 and 2 students are rehearsing
“what is it?” …..は何ですか-….. wa nan desu ka
and answer “it is a…” …………..です-desu
A Level 1 class had the opportunity to talk with students in Japan over Skype which helps students understand and experience the benefits of learning Japanese and having a taste of being a global citizen.
Level 3 and 4
Level 3 and 4 have been continuing to learn the Japanese script, hiragana and checking their learning via an app called Plickers, games and using peer coaching.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the Australian rugby union team, the Wallabies, played a game in Japan last weekend in preparation for the rugby union World Cup next year to be held in Japan?
