Taking care when school plans change
Life can be stressful, and the situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) has only added to the uncertainty and challenges. You might feel worried about what will happen this year, as well as what lies ahead in 2021 and beyond. These emotions, while understandable, can be distracting and draining.
It is important to have some useful strategies to manage our worries, re-focus our thinking and look after ourselves. There is a long list of self-care apps, study tools and online self-help apps that are available to support you through the tough times.
Also remember there are plenty of people within our school community to provide you with support and offer advice including:
* your class teachers
* year advisors
* careers advisor
* school counsellor / school psychologist
Is medical & emergency contact information up-to-date?
Armidale Secondary College requires medical and health information when your child is enrolled; including details about allergies, anaphylaxis, conditions such as asthma and diabetes, and other health care related issues such as prior conditions or medical procedures from the last 12 months). We welcome information and updates from parents about your child's health, even if you are not requesting specific support from our school.
Please provide this medical information in writing from your doctor where possible. It greatly assists our school to support your child’s health and well-being.
Please also remember to notify staff in the school office of any changes to your contact details or to the contact details of those nominated as emergency contacts.
We appreciate your assistance in this regard and assure you that any information you provide the school will be stored securely and will only be used or disclosed in order to support your son or daughter’s health needs or as otherwise required by law.
