House Athletics Carnival

On Friday, 6 March, our students headed out to the Sandringham Athletics track for the final PCW House Athletics Carnival.  After a wet week, the sun broke out on the day of the carnival, allowing the students to run, leap and bound through the running, hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put and discuss and tunnel ball events.  Well done to everyone who participated throughout the day.

Congratulations to the girls from Loyola House for taking our a clean sweep of the house carnivals in our final year!

House Athletics Results

1st         Loyola – 664

2nd       Kostka – 547

3rd        Nagle – 492

4th        Xavier – 470

The competitive spirit was on display by all houses, but Xavier House could not be outdone, again showing their enthusiasm and taking out the Spirit Award.  They were closely followed by Loyola, Kostka and Nagle.

A highlight of the day was the students v teachers events.  The teachers appeared to be well organised for tunnel ball but the students well and truly triumphed!  However, despite some interference from the opposition, the teachers were able to come through for a win in the relay event.
