How do we find that inner place of calm in the midst of the storm?  This Lenten period has certainly seen us placed in the middle of a global storm.  As we are asked to ‘shutdown', ‘stop’ and ‘self-isolate’, I reflect on what Lent is really about.

Lent is a time to stop and reflect.  It is a time to be still, to take stock, to re-evaluate our lives and the people we are becoming.  It is a time to reflect upon how we can be more and love more.

When we look at the true spirit of Lent it is about recognising what we should change in our lives.  It is about becoming, doing and changing whatever it is that is blocking the fullness of life in us right now and doing what we can to bring about the fullness of life in others.

As we journey towards Easter, we encounter a time of darkness and light.  But it is important to recognise that although at times, we may feel despair and hopelessness, isolation and lonelines, that the darkest of times is just before the dawn.  We must always remember to keep hope in our hearts, even in the most difficult and challenging circumstances.

I would like to leave you with a reflection as we enter the Easter season:

…and when your body has become still,

In our resting, pausing, pondering,

In our quiet wondering stillness,

Reach out with your heart. Reach out with your words.

Reach out with all your being, stretch out your kindness and compassion to all those places within and beyond,

So that we may be more, for ourselves and one another.

Wishing you all a Holy Easter.  We are, and always will be, Presentation, with the light of the Lantern guiding our path.
