Hi,
This week my congratulations go to students in K-2 and their teachers for completing the PRC for 2019. It is an extremely big achievement, as students in this age group have to experience 30 books. The following students have put a great deal of effort into completing the Challenge in the past fortnight: Leoni Wilson (Year 9), Lochie Bohringer, Robert Heath, Laura Lapins (Year 5), Chelsea Oliver (Year 4), Jorja Aleksovska, Evangeline Ellis, Ned Harris, Evie Ryan & Hannah Wilson (Year 3). After months of reading 168 students have successfully completed the Challenge for this year. An enormous effort from our school cohort.
Primary students were also able to enter Book Week competitions in the Library. The wonderful array of ‘cubby house trees’, ‘rainbow bear ice scenes’, photos of students dressed as their favourite book characters & models of scenes from students’ much loved books have provided an impressive display.
The following students have secured places in the various competitions.
Favourite Book Character Photo: Willa Haynes, Thea Harvey, Zara Gianisis, Charlie Evans
Rainbow Bear Models: Maddie Chrystall, Nick Strahorn, Hunter Osborn
Tricky’s Cubby House Tree: Nick Strahorn, Lilah Hiller, Archie Chrystall, Torsten Ellis
Favourite Book Scene: Olivia Greenwood, Zoe Strahorn, Evie Ellis, Minnie Whittle
Black Cockatoo Project: Zoe Strahorn
Students will receive their prizes and Merit awards in the coming week. Well done to all those students who participated.
As we have only recently received orders from Book Club – Issue 5 I will not be sending home the Issue 6 catalogue. If you would like a copy, please send your child to the Library to pick one up or call in during the day. It is possible for parents to go online to LOOP to have a look at the catalogue and place an order. The closing date for orders is Friday 13th September
