Year 11 Business Studies

Making their mark, one $20 note at a time

Congratulations to our Year 11 Business Studies class with the completion of the $20 Boss Program for 2019.  The program focuses on challenging students to solve a real problem and help them better understand their relationship with money.  The students have definitely learnt that the secret of success in business is not only a good idea but preparation and some hard work.

The students made a combined $748.00 in profit with over $460 going to charities including Buy a Bale, The Red Cross,  Salvation Army and the schools in-house breakfast initiative.   Sox’s and Co run by Alyssa Watts and Lucy Jones donated their entire profit of $164 to Drought Angels.  Two teams made over $200 which is a phenomenal result.  This was the Pre-Order Café run by Alyssa Saxelby, Shay Fuller and Ebony Webb, who served egg and bacon rolls and cupcakes, and Moo Poo which sold fertilizer.  The Moo Poo team of Katelan Philpott, Mercedes Oste and Henrietta Pottie found the experience so enjoyable and profitable that they will be continuing their venture.  So with spring upon us this is the perfect time for you to be considering a purchase of Moo Poo for your garden! Thanks also to the many students, teachers and parents who support the students.
