PLANNING FOR 2020

We are beginning to plan for 2020, with our Prep enrolments coming in and our planning for staffing not too far away. Sam and I will work with our leadership team, teachers and School Council to consider all the needs of the students for 2020.

If you know of any families who are interested in attending our school, please ask them to inquire at our office for the enrolment process.

If you are aware that your child/children (excluding current Yr 6 students) will not be attending Aitken Hill PS next year, please inform the office in writing as soon as possible. Thank you to those families who have already done so.

PLAYGROUND

Our playground has been completed and all the students have had an opportunity to play on the playground throughout the week. Whilst this is a P-2 playground, all students have had an opportunity to play on the playground throughout the week.  A special thanks to our local member of parliament, Ros Spence, who helped campaign for us to receive vital funds to support the building of the playground as well as shade sails. Ros helped our school receive $80 000 to contribute to the playground and shade sail cost.

NEW PORTABLE

Our new portable has been installed for our school which will be used in 2020. This will help with our increase in enrolments for next year. The portable has been installed at the rear of the administration building. Paths will be installed by the Department of Education to help with the traffic moving throughout the area. We will work with the students to choose a new name for this community.

LANGUAGE SURVEY

Our Language survey has been completed with Chinese as the most favoured language. This links well with Elevation Secondary having Chinese as a language next year. The position has been advertised and we hope to announce who the teacher is in the coming weeks.

Our community breakfast on Thursday mornings continues to be a success for our school community! It's great that so many of our families come along and interact with each other and our staff. We are extremely grateful to the Salvation Army Team for their ongoing support!
