FOR SPECIFIC OR SEVERE ALLERGIES please contact Junior Tuckshop AT LEAST 24 hours prior to ordering to ensure a safe preparation.
ALLERGEN PROCEDURE (ALL ALLERGEN ENQUIRIES MUST BE FILED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF THE DAY THE ORDER IS REQUESTED FOR)
PARENT MUST submit an emailed statement with the subject being “ALLERGY” and the child's name, every time they wish to place an order.
The email must contain:

CHILDS HOME GROUP:
ALL RELEVANT ALLERGIES:
THE SEVERITY: (e.g. If “may contain traces” is acceptable) ITEMS INTERESTED IN ORDERING:
DATE WANTING ORDER TO BE PLACED FOR:
(THIS DATE MUST BE AT LEAST 24 HOURS FROM THE TIME OF EMAIL) PARENTS CONTACT NAME & NUMBER:
If this procedure is not strictly followed & confirmation is not exchanged by both parties prior to the order submission, Junior Tuckshop reserves the right to cancel the order, to correspond with the allergy notice. The health & safety of the Malvern Primary School students is our number one priority.
Once the emailed allergy alert is received, Junior Tuckshop will thoroughly check the ingredients of the items selected to be ordered by the child & cross check the specified allergens & traces of.
IF TRACES OR ALLERGENS ARE FOUND:
Junior Tuckshop will respond to the parent stating the products allergens & suggest an alternative for the lunch order where possible, that does not contain the allergens.
Junior Tuckshop will also specify if products in line with the allergen are used in the kitchen, in order to identify any excess allergen contamination risks. It is crucial that allergies are alerted to Junior Tuckshop at least 24 hours in advance to ensure a safe preparation of the meal can be completed, before the kitchen equipment comes into contact with any other products on the day.
Should the parent decide to go ahead with the suggestion/substitute or approve
the risk otherwise, a formal confirmation email of approval must be sent to Junior Tuckshop, prior to the order being checked out on QKR!
IF NO TRACES OR ALLERGENS ARE FOUND:
Junior Tuckshop will respond to the parent with a formal confirmation email
to declare this & the parent must still respond with a formal approval/acceptance prior to the order being checked out on QKR!
IF A CONFIRMATION EMAIL IS NOT RECEIVED, THE ORDER WILL NOT BE FULFILLED.
Please note: voice mail and verbal requests WILL NOT be validated.
Emailed requests which have not been responded to are not in effect, until the emailed
CONFIRMATION has been received.
