WINTER SPORTS ROUND 3 RESULTS - FRIDAY 21st MAY VS INVERLOCH

Basket Ball Report - By Jayda Smith & Jett Roberts

Basketball ended up having a total of five teams, two for St Joseph's Korumburra, two for Inverloch Primary and one for St Laurence's.  Our first game was against St Joseph’s Korumburra.  We ended up with a score of 3 - 2 with St Laurence’s coming out on top!  It was a really tough game and St Joseph’s put up a struggle.  Both teams played really well!

Having five teams, every ten minutes we would switch and play the other teams!

In our second game against Inverloch Primary it was a lot harder with a score of 4 - 1, St Laurence’s came out on top with a win!

Our third game against St Joseph's.  Ty played for St Joseph's to even out the teams, but we won from 6 - 4 .  Jett and Ty then swapped over and Jett played a game for St Joseph’s.

Our last game was against Inverloch.  We played really well but Inverloch won with a score of 10 - 4.   Our best player for this week was Jayda, she scored really well and had a lot of smart passes but overall everyone played really well!

Overall 3 wins over  4 games.  During the bye we were able to watch Jett play for St Joseph’s.

Basketball - By Alayna

On Friday we had Winter sport and played against Inverloch for round 3.

Rose, Ameila and Alayna all got goals with the end score a tie 4 to 4.

It was a lovely day and in my opinion the person who did extremely well was Christina, who tried her best and played very well.  She didn’t give up when she did something wrong or missed the ring.  It was a competitive game but friendly.  Lots of people were new so we didn’t get pulled up on every single mistake.

Team A Netball - By Ava McRae

The people who got the goals for our team were Tess, Clara and Willow.  We had a win with the score being  21 goals to 9 goals.

The best player was Claudia from St Joseph's because her passes were  accurate, she got a lot of intercepts and she was always in the right spot. Overall everyone had a great day and the weather was beautiful.

T Ball - by Clara Western

Our T-Ball team improved as the game progressed as we gained in skill and confidence. Our team had more knowledge of how to play so our skill of running, hitting and catching had improved!  The team was very encouraging and supportive for the whole game. The final score was 3-0 Inverloch.

Now that we are know and are learning more about the game, we will be more confident and prepared for the next round of the season playing Mirboo North.

Soccer - By Matt M & Charlie K

On Friday the 21st of May St Laurence's Soccer team for Winter Sports went to Inverloch Kongwak Primary School and played 2 matches.  One against I K and one against St Joseph’s Primary.

We won both games. The first match against Inverloch/Kongwak was won by us 1-0 and the second match against St Josephs was also won by us 3-0.

In the first match Charlie King scored the one and only goal and for the second game, the scorers were Charlie twice and Elizabeth Hoekstra in the last minute. We played exceptionally and our defense was good.   Inverloch played well putting up a good fight but in the end we won.

CHANGES OF DATES AND CANCELLATIONS

  • The regional cross-country date is now Thursday, 10th June.
  • Friday's winter sport round 5 against LPS has been cancelled due to the lock down situations.

We haven't had much luck this year with our winter sport program and we now hope that the Lightning Premiership goes ahead on Friday 11th June.

There is a possibility that we could reschedule our round 5 fixture against Leongatha Primary School to early next term.
