Hape News

Once again we found ourselves in lockdown – just as the weather turned cold and wet. We can all be forgiven for choosing the warmth of our homes over the chill of a Ballarat winter. It is however, in these circumstances that we should all be looking to increase our activity levels. The physical and mental benefits of regular physical activity are well documented.
Body weight, bone health, cardio-respiratory function, balance, social interactions, decreased feelings of depression and anxiety, are all positive benefits of being physically active on a regular basis. Think ‘invigorating’ over freezing, ‘rewarding’ over tiring and ‘enjoyment’ over exercise being a chore.
Below are the National Activity Guidelines for children aged 5 – 17. The Guidelines are slightly different for adults however, if they follow these basic principles, they too will experience health benefits.
Here is what some students have been up to during lockdown………..
Year 8 HAPE News
Parents/Guardians of Year 8 students should have received an email regarding the Community Sport unit running as part of the Term 3 PE program. If you did not receive the email, please contact me via ballarat.hs@education.vic.gov.au asap.
Prompt payment of the fee would be very much appreciated. This can be done via CompassPay, Bpay or credit card over the phone.
