Contemporary Learning Update – Year 7 & 8 Learning Programs 2022

The development of new, engaging and contemporary curriculum at our Year 7 & 8 level has continued throughout Term 2 of this year.

Staff across a variety of Learning Areas are working in teams to devise a rich and rigorous learning experience that supports student achievement, with particular attention to Literacy and Numeracy.

The program’s highlight is its interconnection, allowing students to transfer developing skills and knowledge across curriculum fields. It is being designed to ensure that the learning has a real-world context which provides for many stimulating learning activities.

Structurally, Science and Mathematics come together to allow students to utilise mathematics in real-world applications. Project Based Learning opportunities incorporate Technology fields. English and the Humanities merge and challenge students to think critically. Religious Education keeps our students connected to the College, our Faith and our Mission. Food Technology and Health develop their awareness of nutrition, meal planning and preparation, and sustainability. Physical Education and Dance reinforce the benefits of human movement and developing fitness. The Visual Arts and Performing Arts teach our students about expressing their ideas and perspectives. Languages explores the beauty and depth of Italian culture and supports the acquisition of language skills.

We are looking forward to presenting more details about this project soon.
