Captains Corner

This week the Year Ones have gone on their first excursion to Chesterfield Farm. After the sudden lockdown we certainly value the importance of such learning experiences. The purpose of their excursion was to explore animals and their habitats. Their unit also explores sustainability and how we take care of our environment.

As part of the Year One’s Education Week home learning, they were asked to pick an animal and reflect on how we as humans, take care of its habitat. I really enjoyed helping my little sister with her home learning and was very pleased to see how it connected to the excursion and also Education Week. What was also very pleasing is that this learning relates to the Global Goal of “Life on Land”.

Some additional information includes Education Week. Education week is a way for students, teachers and parents to celebrate the wonderful learning we do at our school. We will be hosting a special assembly on Monday the 24th May and on Tuesday 25th May, they will be an open morning and night for parents to see the incredible learning that we have put together. I strongly encourage all parents to come to the special assembly and if possible the open morning and night as well.
