Novel Coronavirus Update

As mentioned in a recent Compass Post, the Coronavirus pandemic continues to be a major challenge for a number of countries in which some of our school families are affiliated with. On behalf of our school community may I take this opportunity to once again express that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Attached to the Compass post were some resources and also an invitation for families to contact Mr Lewis or myself if you think that your child would benefit from speaking with one of the DET’s social workers. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance as it is extremely important that the children are supported and monitored through such difficult and highly emotive times.

Year Prep – Three Swimming Program Update

A sincere thank you to the numerous families who have supported this year’s swimming programs as overall they have been an enormous success. However I acknowledge that it was extremely disappointing that some of the children missed out due to the swimming centre’s cap on numbers. In light of this, we have meet with the Centre and have organised additional lessons for 2022 in which all of the children should be able to attend.

Mother’s Day Stall

I trust all of our school mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day and spent the day being acknowledged and spoilt by the children. Also thank you to the members of the Community Relations Committee for organising the Mother’s Day stall and the numerous mums and dads who assisted.

Congratulations to the following children for their outstanding achievements outside of school

Meshavi (Year 2) for her continued application and success with the development of her karate skills. Recently she participated in the Victorian Karate League tournament and placed 2nd which is a fantastic achievement. Well done and congratulations Meshavi we all look forward to hearing how you progress in your chosen sport.

Jonathon (Year 5) recently competed in the Camp Australia Handball championships where approximately 400 Service Champions competed into Sunday's 12 Regional finals for the grand prize and the title of Regional Handball Champion. Jonathon proudly represented our school and competed exceptionally well. As a bonus, he was also featured on the Channel 9 News! Well done, congratulations and thank you Jonathon!
